LynBDesigns - The Roommate Agreement Collection

This is yet another of my Black Friday purchases.... how can I resist a collection based on The Big Bang Theory?! These were shipped on 1st December and arrived here in the UK on 10th December... I'm sure that USPS international shipping is getting quicker, not that I'm complaining! I didn't buy the whole collection but I may be going back for more soon!

Whimsically Inventive - First up is my favourite from the collection since it's purple. It's a light purple/lilac holographic shade and it's absolutely stunning in the sunlight. The formula is a little thin and I needed 3 coats to gain full opacity. If you're careful you may be able to get away with 2, but I prefer 3 thinner coats.

We're Lost Boys - A black jelly that's loaded with flaky goodness! There's lots of colours in here, mainly black and silver but there is also purple in there (surprise surprise!). This again is 3 thin coats but you could get away with 2 thicker coats.

Fun with Flags -  This is a very sheer green jelly with lots and lots of hex glitters in there! There's various shades of green in there along with white and yet more purple. This is three coats and you can still see my nail line. I like the idea of this polish but it's a little too sheer for me as I prefer more opaque polishes. I think this would look gorgeous layered over either white or a bright green though!

You can purchase from LynB here.

China Glaze Glow in the Snow set

My lovely sister bought me one of the new China Glaze Christmas sets called Glow in the Snow. The set includes two grey polishes, one gold and also a cute little LED keyring torch.

Out like a light - A deep grey one coater. The formula on this one is fantastic, this is one coat and with top coat, it doesn't need anything else. This one is also brilliant for stamping.

De-light - Gorgeous gold glitter. This contains both normal gold glitter and bar glitter. The below pictures show one coat over Out like a Light but will be fully opaque in 2-3 coats.

Meet me under the Stars -  a deep grey/black polish with lots of sparkle! The formula on this one is almost a jelly but not quite. This is two coats and the formula was a little gloopy on mine. Other than that, this is a fantastic polish.

What do you think of this collection?

Vivid Lacquer Stamping Plate Review

I've slowly been getting into stamping and I love how you can get a mani that looks really professional and pretty with only a little effort (once you've found the best way to use the stamper). I'd only ever tried bundle monster (the images are too small for my nails) and MoYou (fantastic) plates before, so i thought that I would try some from Vivid Lacquer as I've always heard good things about them.

I picked out VL014 and VL028 during their Black Friday sale and waited rather impatiently for them to arrive (international shipping sucks). I was so excited when they arrived that I had to use them straight away so here they are in action!

This is how the plates look when they're out of the box, mine arrived in a beautiful little green box which I thought was lovely. There's cushioning to prevent the plates being damaged during delivery and the plates also have blue plastic on them and are in little bags.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love dinosaurs and one of the plates that I picked just happened to have some dinosaurs on it so this was the first plate that I tried. The blue plastic comes off easily (some are really hard to remove) and they stamp beautifully.

This look was achieved by doing diagonal gradients using OPI Skull and Glossbones and China Glaze Out Like A Light. I then used Sweet Heart Polish Shadow & Substance with plate VL014 for the stamping. I then sat grinning and staring at my nails because I had dinosaurs all over them.

Next up I picked one of the lacey designs on plate VL028 and stamped using OPI Angel With A Leadfoot over Above The Curves Sweater Weather. This one didn't turn out as well but I think that it's because my scraper is breaking and I couldn't find a card to use. On this one I only did two accent nails per hand because I felt that having this pattern on all nails would be too much. Plus I really love the base colour and wanted to look at it.

What do you guys think of these plates? Are there any other brands that I should be trying?

Thanks for reading!
